Crayton Webb is Vice President of Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility for Mary Kay Inc. in Dallas, Texas.  He leads the company’s global media and public relations team and is also responsible for Mary Kay’s global CSR and sustainability programs. 

Crayton is chairman of the men’s auxiliary for Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas, HeROs (He Respects Others), and is on the boards of the National Domestic Violence Hotline and the Texas Council on Family Violence. He serves as vice chair of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Board.  Crayton also serves on the Communications Council for the Dallas Regional Chamber, the Executive Forum of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship and advisory boards for Communications Studies at Southern Methodist University and the Junior League of Dallas.  He is a former board chairman for Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, the Leadership Dallas Alumni Association and Dallas’ citywide fitness initiative, “GET A MOVE ON.” He previously served on the board and executive committee of the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Webb received the 2015 Leadership Dallas Distinguished Alumni Award and was named one of the 2014 “Dallas Dozen” by D Magazine.  He was selected for the Dallas Business Journal’s class of 40 under Forty in 2011. In 2007, Webb was named one of the “Five Outstanding Young Dallasites” by the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce and subsequently named one of the “Five Outstanding Young Texans” by the Texas Junior Chamber of Commerce in September 2008.

From 2002 until 2005, Webb was chief of staff for Dallas Mayor Laura Miller.  During that time he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Mayor’s Office, working with members of the news media and served as the Mayor’s spokesperson, media advisor and top aide. 

Prior to joining the Mayor’s Office, Crayton was director of communications for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas where he served as spokesman and directed the organization’s advertising, media and public relations strategies.

Webb’s professional background is in journalism.  Crayton was a broadcast journalist for nearly ten years covering politics for television stations in Bend, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; Austin, Texas and was an investigative reporter and covered City Hall for the CBS affiliate in Dallas from 1998 to 2001.

Crayton was among the first reporters in the nation to uncover the identity theft crisis and the hazards of black mold in homes and schools.  He received a Katie Award in 2000 from the Dallas Press Club for an investigative news series on black mold.  Webb was named “Best Reporter” by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters in 1998.
